My husband says I've never met a stranger and he's right. I have a tendency to strike up conversations with anyone and everyone everywhere I go and often I leave this newly met person feeling like I've known them a long time or that we have this new connection. I feel that way especially about Carmen, a senior at Walton High School in Marietta, Georgia, and her mom, Gracia! I have the advantage especially in this relationship because they already knew my husband and so there was an instant connection to them. What sweet ladies these two are!
Carmen and Gracia came to my office to discuss Carmen's senior pictures and she told me she wanted a light-filled sunny session. I think we achieved that (even if we had to create a little bit of our own sunny effects with help from a little trick I was experimenting with that day) and we were really lucky to have scheduled her session when we did because shortly after her session Carmen ended up in the hospital on account of an uncooperative appendix!
At the end of this post I've mentioned the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society at Carmen's request - there is a video and link about how you can get involved also!
Here are a few of my favorite images from her senior portrait session in Roswell.
One of the students at Carmen's school, Walton High School, has been battling leukemia. Carmen and her friends at Walton were recently campaigning to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Here is the mission statement from LLS:
The mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
LLS exists to find cures and ensure access to treatments for blood cancer patients. We are the voice for all blood cancer patients and we work to ensure access to treatments for all blood cancer patients.
March just happens to be Myeloma Awareness Month! Click on the button below to find out how you can get involved and donate!
